You know your yoga is working if…

This week I managed ten minutes of seated meditation each day, but beyond that, no formal practice.

I spent my days outside skiing with my kids, eating way too many french fries, and navigating a million meltdowns.

Yoga isn’t meant to chain you to your mat – it’s meant to be taken off the mat and into your life. It's the moments of awareness before you respond, it's the quiet breath you take while washing the dishes or the ability to listen without planning your response.

You know your yoga is working when you can go some time without the formal practice and still stay present – notice your breath, pause before responding, and appreciate the small, beautiful moments all around you.

Ultimately, it’s this informal practice that really matters. You don’t practice yoga to get better at yoga – you practice yoga to get better at life.
